What makes Moscow truly digital and what drives the city's digital economy? What does the city do to involve youth in technology entrepreneurship? These questions were raised at Moscow' Digital Genome, a panel discussion held during the Startup Village 2019 technology conference.
Organizers used the discussion to announce Urban.Tech Challenge, a major developer competition focused on specific issues faced by Moscow across a wide range of industries.
Following a multi-stage selection process, 250 teams will compete in delivering solutions to 15 technology challenges provided by government departments and corporations. The best solutions will undergo pilot trials, which, if successful, will lead to integration into operations by respective customers. Top 100 teams will have two months to work with experts in a business accelerator to fine-tune their products to match the needs of specific customers.
